"Yeah... feels like hope."

It’s finished! Fury Road used a lot of symbolism as visual shorthand to communicate throughout the film so I wanted to do something similar with my illustration for the furyroadfanzine​. The raised fist, steering wheel, and blood transfusion line are meant to represents Immortan Joe and the society that gives him power and sustains Nux and the other warboys, but ultimately holds them captive. While the other arm is atrophied in the same way as Furiosa’s, to represent Nux’s change of heart to ally with her and The Wives (thus the scarf)—and also Nux’s ultimate mortality.

Welp, looks like I need another Nux print. :D (I was gonna wait till I got some shirts I've been eyeballing, but since shipping's free right now...I don't have to! :excited:)

This looks so gorgeous, and I love your attention to detail with the symbolism. Aaah, I could (or maybe did >.>) just sit here staring at it and absorbing all the symbolism, letting it sink into my brain and make me feel feelings. :awe:  The show-not-tell nature of Fury Road is one of my favorite parts about it, and I adore seeing it echoed well in fanart, too.

Oh, and thanks for the process walkthrough! I enjoy seeing behind-the-scenes stuff, so it was a very neat read (and oh yes, the hours of research, I know ye well...frequently for the most inane of details, heh). :heart: :blackrose:
